The company behind AccountingWEB, a popular website for accountants, has completed its 2018 survey into the opinions of people who use accounting software. After each survey, an award is given to the best software product in each category. However, this year, the awards were a little different from usual.
Previously, the organisers of the survey gave out a Software Satisfaction Award each year for the software with the highest average survey score in each category. Our software won the award in the payroll category three times, from 2011 to 2013. The awards didn’t run for the next three years; and, then, they returned last year under the new name, the Software Excellence Awards.
This year’s Software Excellence Awards were slightly different because, although the survey was similar to previous years, the awards in some categories were decided by a panel of judges. In previous years, each award was given to the product with the highest average survey score.
In the survey, users of each payroll package were asked to rate it out of five on functionality, support, ease of use and value for money. The results have now been analysed and are available in this report.
This year, our customers gave us an average score of 4.95 (out of 5.00). This is not only the highest mark in the payroll category, but also the highest score across all categories of software.
Brightpay had the second highest score, with 4.89 and they impressed the judges enough to receive the 2018 Software Excellence Award for payroll software. Congratulations to Brightpay, and to all of the winners in the other categories.
The other shortlisted payroll software products were Moneysoft (4.75), Capium (4.69) and Xero Payroll (4.46).
Our team put in a lot of hard work, not just in developing and testing the software, but also in supporting our customers. It is gratifying to know that our customers appreciate what we do. I’d like to thank our customers who took the time to fill out the survey and who rated us so very highly.
